The Camping Party

The 5 year old had her birthday party on Saturday and this mama waited until Thursday to get ready for it.  Bad idea, Ruthie. I may not have gotten favor bags pulled together and I might have forgotten to make a couple triangle banners, but it turned out okay.

I found the idea for the invites on Pinterest and I kind of love them:

5 year olds really just like to play, so I had some activities out that they could do whenever they wanted — nothing like pin the tail on the donkey or sack races…things they could work on then go and play then come back and work on.  It’s the way to go, let me tell you.

Make your own trail mix:alicecampout-20 alicecampout-21 alicecampout-22

There were minimal decorations — mostly just potted flowers and burlap stuff, but I did make these cute letters (they are so easy!):alicecampout-24

And I hung up some IG pictures, too:alicecampout-25 alicecampout-26

The teepee was a last minute addition and the kids actually had a good time hiding in it.alicecampout-27 alicecampout-28

Dan took them an a “nature hike,” we fed them hot dogs and chips (only the healthiest of options at this house) and we roasted s’mores before Alice was spoiled rotten by her fantastic friends.

Aren’t little kid birthdays just the best?

Happy Monday!

What GREAT ideas, Ruthie!! I loved the make-your-own trail mix and the camp necklace. Did you buy the camp necklace box the way it was or did you go to a craft store and pick out your own beads?
