Today was one of my favorite days at Children’s House…it was the tour of the Savannah.
It is the cutest thing you guys have ever seen. Imagine 20 adorable little kids in homemade animal costumes (painted!) in front of a hand-painted scene of the Savannah. Making animal noises. Oh my, these animals were awesome.
And Ms. Megan? She doesn’t mess around. She is the coolest safari guide. Ever.
Her helper’s not bad either.
What do I love? I love that she never breaks character. Me? I’m lame. I would get embarrassed and probably wouldn’t wear the hat. But Ms. Megan makes the entire thing magically fun for everyone.
She beats away wild hyenas.
And she prepares us for what we’re about to walk into…..
Lions! (Jamie’s on the right)
This is, without a doubt, my favorite part of the entire year: the lions eating the zebra carcass.
OH, look, the zebras are eating leaves off the trees.
Throughout the safari, the guide had to remind the zebras that it was okay to keep eating….those zebras are easily distracted. They also break character. By saying, “HI NOAH!!” as they are introduced. She may never perform on Broadway…
Even Miss Stephanie dressed up.
Cutest African animals in the entire world.
And the cutest guide.
