That sounds way more exciting and adventurous than it actually was. Did we do both yesterday? Yes. Did we have 5 kittens tagging along for the first event? Yes. That makes it less crazy in the ‘fun’ sense of the word.
But we had a blast. The kids ran around like crazy at Grandma and Grandpa’s house.
With sparkle shoes, of course.
But I had on my sweet riding boots (is that what legit dirtbikers call them? Because when I say it, it sounds pretty legit…)
Dan and I took turns riding along the little trails below his parent’s house while the other stayed up with the kids who were playing a very intense game of Mermaids.
[he was the evil mermaid (i need to teach him ‘merman’) who stole coins from the girls]
And this is what we got to look at:
Not bad, huh?
We went home and got cleaned up because we had a party to go to. This girl was turning 30…
…and her very sweet husband had planned a surprise party for her at the Clarkston Event Center.
I was ready with my camera, Tobe was ready with his (to video)
and Dan was ready with his beer.
And then in walked the birthday girl.
Sweet life-size cardboard cutout, Tara…
…I might only be jealous that I don’t have one of myself.
It’s hard to take lots of good pictures when you’re nursing your baby with one hand and drinking wine with another.
That is the picture of perfect mothering.
Happy 30th Birthday, Tara. One of the most hilarious and fashion people I know.
