ZA: Part V

………….Zombie Apocalypse….my FICTIONAL story about how the Prasils would handle a Zombie Virus.  To start from the beginning of this pretend tale, click on “ZA” in the categories tab at the right………

I called my mom’s cell phone – but I knew she was at school and might not answer.  I called my dad and his phone was dead or turned off — it went straight to voicemail.  I knew my mom checks her email at school quite often, so I decided to send her one now and try calling a little later.

I told her that I know I can overreact and worry about certain things, but that in this case, I knew it was only a matter of days before more and more people were infected by this horrible virus that had arrived in the valley and that we were leaving.  Not right away (because I wanted to get ahold of them first) but soon.  Within hours.

Before I could hit “send,” my phone rang.  It was my mom.

“I really think we should think about leaving the area.”

I was so glad she and my dad had come up with this idea without me having to talk them into it.

“I stayed home from work today and so did Dad.  Our phones were both upstairs when you called – we were downstairs getting some things together.”

“We are all packed up.  I just have to call my doctor and beg for a RX of my medications, along with some ‘optional’ medications…..”

I had thought ahead.  Far ahead.  Months ahead.  To January 11th.  My due date.  I’d need things.  Supplies and medication and sterile things.  Ugh, so much to think about.  But all very necessary.  My mom and I finished up our conversation and decided to meet at 10:00pm at our house.  I had a while to call friends and see what their plans were….
