No I am not talking about our new kitten, Lulu, or the bunny living in our garage, Obi-Wan Kenobi.
And I’m not talking about the kids meeting a new playmate at school, or myself finding a new friend at a mommy playgroup. Which would never happen because I would probably never join a mommy playgroup.
No, my friends, Danny has a new friend. Yep, Danny has a new friend.
Basically my friend Tara and I force friendships on our family members. I am forcing Charlotte to be friends with Bellamy even though Bellamy can probably speak 10,000 times more words than Charlotte can and is wondering why this little baby is following her around at daycare.
(daycare you ask? Yep I signed Charlotte up for daycare twice a week. The fact that it is also Bellamy’s daycare is not just a strange coincidence. That was well planned. Forced friendships, people.)
So anyway, I would really like for Danny to be BFFs with Christian who is Tara’s husband. He’s cool, and fun, and he has his life together. And he watches true blood.
Christian invited Danny to go fishing today and Danny had a blast. They went upriver and then to the Salmon and caught steelhead. Dan said it was a really fun time and I’m so glad it was… Our plan just might be working.
That’s one of 2 fish he caught. He’s a pretty lucky guy to go on such an awesome little fishing trip. and come back with disgusting slimy fish that he decided to clean and fillet in our kitchen….
But if this is what it takes to get a new friend for my Danny… Well then that’s what it takes.
***just so you all know, it’s not as if Danny is incapable of making friends. He has lots and lots of friends, but not very many that he hangs out with on a regular basis. And seriously, what is it going to hurt to just add another awesome friend to the mix? Ka-Ching.***
