Tomorrow is Ria’s birthday.
We’re getting close and there are signs of it everywhere.
I love birthdays, most especially my kids’ birthdays. Have you read the book, “Happy Birthday to You!” by Dr. Seuss? It’s one of my favorites. It’s about how special birthdays are, and how on your birthday, you get special meals and rides and everything is just for you. I want my kids to feel this way. I don’t mean that they should get anything and everything they want, but I want them to feel special. THey get to choose what to eat for breakfast and dinner. They choose their dessert, that kind of thing.
Maybe if they want to dress up, they can. Although that wouldn’t be so unusual at our house.
While we sauteed onions and celery and carrots for beer cheese soup…
…the kids dressed up and ran around like wild dogs.
Jamie’s costume was taken (see spidergirl above) and he did not appreciate that.
But don’t worry…we found a racecar driver outfit.
And Charlotte? She did what she does best.
She yelled at them, squealed at them, and craned her neck to watch them.
My kids, really, are the best.
