Today was a lazy day. We had no plans (very rare), we are just feeling better after everyone has been sick, and we needed to get out of the house. The snow has just begun to really fall in the mountains so that’s where we headed.
Along the way, we stopped for a couple pictures…
We went up Asotin Creek, past Cloverland and into the Blues. It’s really gorgeous. There’s one point where you look down in the valleys and you can see right where it gets high enough for the rain to turn to snow and everything slowly fades to white. Very picturesque.
What else is very picturesque? Any scene with these beauties in it…
The kids got out at the top and played and played. And got super wet.
We didn’t plan very well. We should have packed all the kids’ snow stuff – hats, mittens, snow pants, the works. But we didn’t so the kids were left to play in the wet snow with just their clothes.
Danny set up a hot chocolate station with his camping gear. Such a treat.
We also enjoyed some chicken and sausages. mmmmmm.
But after a while, it got too cold so we piled back in the car to finish up lunch.
And this picture sums up Alice perfectly:
Our day was wonderful.
Most of the time….
And in exciting news, Charlotte has gained weight. Yes, my worried friends (I know none of you were really worried) it is true. We weighed her on Danny’s brewing scale. I realize it might be slightly different than the ones in the clinic, but I’m pretty confident that the almost 1/2 pound it showed Charlotte to have gained is still a gain (even if it’s not really 1/2 pound). Does that make sense?
We’ll weigh her on that scale again in a couple days, just to see.
Hope you had a wonderful weekend!
