This year, Jamie is going to Children’s House Montessori school. Or, as he calls it, Montesoooooori. We thought a lot about what to do this year and decided that this was the best decision for Mr. Jamie — he is very excited to start school, and before it officially starts, we had a private tour.
The sun was in his eyes.
Ms. Dani greeted us. Ms. Dani and Ms. Megan are Jamie’s new teachers and I am loving them already. They talk to Jamie like he is a person, not just a little kid, and I really appreciate that. We started with finding his name on his cubby.
Jamie was a little nervous and overwhelmed. And the P at the end of his name totally threw him off. I had to remind him our last name was “Prasil. P-P-P Prasil.” He got it eventually.
Then we found his hook.
And after that, Jamie and Ms. Megan sat on the green line while Ms. Megan explained what it’s for.
Remember when I posted that I was nervous about snack time? I still am, but not because I’m afraid Jamie won’t be able to pour his own drink or grab his own snack because clearly he can:
We may have to work on pinching those tongs, but he’ll get it.
And tomorrow he has a practice day at Montessooooooori. I’m excited for him, but for some reason, I’m feeling a little emotional. He’s getting older and more independent and I’m not really ready to let him go. I know. He’s only 4 and going into preschool. But he’s not quite as shy as he used to be and he doesn’t just want to hang out with me all the time. I’m not quite sure what that all has to do with him starting school, but all these emotions are kind of hitting me and for a girl who isn’t too emotional, it’s weird. But he’s ready and I’m also really excited for him. I can’t wait to see how much he grows this year.
To end this post, here are some pictures of Brennan. Brennan is the sweet baby boy of my beautiful friend Leann. I love them!
