Pom Poms

When my friend Lindsay posted a picture on her blog (www.canigetthatinpink.wordpress.com) of the adorable pom poms she made to hang in her girls’ rooms….I knew I had to copy.

She directed me to:pompomcookies-20

to get the tissue paper.  She said she likes to use that because they are a bit thicker — I’m glad I listened to her because I have to agree.  Much better than Wal-Mart tissue paper. And it was only $2.50 a pack.  (These cost only $2.60 each to make).  I got the wire from the floral department of JoAnn’s.

I got the directions straight off of Martha Stewart’s website, FYI.  And her pictures are much more pleasant to look at.

I took a pack of the tissue paper (they come in sheets of 8) and folded it accordion-style in 1 1/2 inch sections.

Then I cut the ends so they were rounded.  After that, I folded the wire right around the middle and twisted it off.

The first one was (accidently) way too small.  But I’m glad it is because it will look cute next to the bigger ones.

Charlotte’s room is full of pinks and blues…and who doesn’t love a little sparkle?

They look so adorable and only took me a total of 20 minutes.  Can’t wait to hang them.
